Right now, recycling solar panels isn’t profitable. Maybe it won’t be tomorrow, or the next day, but it will surely remain inefficient and costly in twenty years if laws aren’t passed  requiring solar companies to invest in recycling systems.

SVTC Remembers Frank Schiavo

index_update_frankFrank Schiavo, former member of SVTC’s Board of Directors and retired San Jose State University environmental studies professor, passed on January 26th. Frank served as Vice President of the Board  during the late 90s and early 00s. In 2003 we honored him for his dedication to sustainability and lifetime of commitment to environmental sustainability. We cherish the time he spent with SVTC and will never forget his devotion to protecting the environment and our future.

Delayed Regulation of Emerging Technologies
SVTC’s report "Regulating Emerging Technologies in Silicon Valley and Beyond" compared the lack of regulation in the emerging nanotechnology industry to that of the semiconductor industry before the mid 1980s.
